The short version: MeetChime reads your calendar so it can ring when your meetings start. That information stays on your Mac. We don't have servers that receive your calendar, we don't sell or share your data, and we don't use it for advertising.

What MeetChime accesses

When you connect your Google account, MeetChime asks Google for read-only access to your calendars (the calendar.readonly permission). It uses this to read, for events from the last 12 hours through the next 14 days:

MeetChime cannot create, change or delete anything in your calendar.

How it's used

Only to decide when to alert you, to show your upcoming meetings in the menu bar, and to open the meeting link when you choose Join.

Where it's stored

None of this is sent to MeetChime. The app talks directly to Google's servers to read your calendar and to sign you in.

Feedback you choose to send

If you use "Send feedback" or "A meeting didn't ring", MeetChime prepares a report that you can review before sending. Sending it opens your own email app, so nothing is sent unless you press Send. If you include diagnostics, the report contains the app and macOS versions, sync status and a list of recent app events. It does not include meeting titles, attendees or other calendar details. We use reports only to fix problems and improve the app.

What we don't do

Google API Services

MeetChime's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Removing your data

Children

MeetChime is not directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change how MeetChime handles data, we'll update this page and the date above. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
